Death, Life and Naturally Sourced Supplements

It’s been a long year for me since June, 2014. In March, 2014, I hosted my first ever Fitness Rally! It was amazing! Then in May, 2014 I graduated from College with a Bachelor of Science in Alternative Medicine. Way Cool! I was ready to set the world on fire with my knowledge and skill.

In June, 2014, my mother was admitted to the hospital for a sub-clavian bypass which was supposed to be ‘routine’ and easy according to the surgeon. During recovery, my mom had a stroke. They felt she would recover 100% with therapy and was scheduled to be in rehab for 3 weeks. Easy Peasy. I was glad beyond description.

During her stay in rehab, my mom continued to suffer strokes and was sent home with hospice care. I flew to her home to care for her. The doctor said that she may still recover, it happened all the time. So in an effort to make this recovery possible, I employed my best Alternative Medicine skills. I made organic chicken soup, served crushed medication in yogurt instead of pudding to reduce sugar intake and increase pro-biotics, made sure she got plenty of fluids and just stayed with her. If my willing her to live would have been all that was required, I would have been successful. The trauma to her body was not recoverable and we moved her to respite care in a hospice and I was with her as she passed.

No one can describe the shock and surprise of the sudden passing of a loved one and what emotions and physical things happen to you. I guarantee you, it TAKES A TOLL!! One day you look around and say things like, ‘I have to get out of this funk’ and ‘wow, I guess my house got a tad dirty’. And more things, but….do you really want to hear them????

When these questions started hitting me in late December, 2014 and early January, 2015, I started to search for solutions to my emotional situation and the physical situation they created in regard to the 30 pounds I now needed to shed.  I connected with someone on Facebook who has now become a close friend and mentor, and introduced me to LIFE SAVING naturally sourced supplements. These supplements, which I purchased for weight loss, proved to be so much more! Within 3 days, the arthritis pain in my fingers, wrists, shoulders and hips disappeared! I phoned my friend and said, ‘Hey, this is happening to me. Is this part of the deal?’ Without hesitation, she said, ‘Yes, that’s the 23 super fruit juice blend. It’s healing your body from the cellular level out.’

I was elated and said, ‘Can I drink the whole bottle? Cause I know I need this.’ She replied, ‘Yes, and no harm will come to you. You’ll just get well faster. I buy and use a case a month.”  Now I buy and use a case a month and live pain-free. On top of the happy pain-free news, I no longer live with copious amounts of allergy medications in my handbag and have no use for nasal sprays to clear my sinuses. They are cleared as this super fruit juice boosts my immune system. I was blown away by all this.

During the first 8 days, I lost 5 pounds and in 90 days there was noticeable weight loss and decrease in my measurements. These products are not caffeine based and yet boost the metabolism while healing the body, elevating mood, stabilizing blood sugar, balancing hormones, raising immune function, decreasing inflammation, in general, ‘giving people their lives back’.

After taking them for a few months, I had wonderful energy, felt my sadness had subsided and was ready to take on the world. Cleaned my house from top to bottom and started inviting friends over to visit. The change in me was visible to many of my friends. I have shared with them and am proud to say I am helping them improve their health and get their lives back.

I wish I had this information years ago so I could have shared it with my parents. As I was coming along well with the grief of my mom’s passing, my dad became ill and passed suddenly. This all happened within an 8 month span of time. I’m thankful that I was already using these wonderful products. They made my sadness bearable and my weight gain non-existent. I have maintained my weight and continued to re-shape my body through this emotional time. I feel like I have been truly blessed by the products and the company. What a wonderful recovery tool for people everywhere!

There is so much more to this than just this small story. I”m happy to share with you and change your life.

Be Blessed and enjoy every day…oh, and be pain-free and happy…..

Frozen Shoulder

untitledIn June 2013 I was diagnosed with Frozen Shoulder. After months of not being able to move my arm all the way across my body or over my head and losing range of motion daily, I was thrilled at the thought of an ‘end in sight’. After all, when you go to the doctor and they determine the cause of your discomfort, there is usually a medication that can turn it around. Right?
So that same day, knowing it isn’t always effective, I received a cortisone shot straight into the joint cavity along with lidocaine to help you endure the trauma. I was also advised that I would probably need several months of physical therapy to help regain movement and range of motion.

The first week passed and there was no relief from the shot and the physical therapy was just beginning. For 6 months once a week I faithfully went and allowed my bursa capsule to be stretched and manipulated to break up some type of adhesion that was locking up my shoulder. The last time I went to physical therapy, the tech over extended my shoulder and I was in GREAT pain for two weeks and never returned.

What to do? Where do you go? Who knows anything about this? Will it ever resolve? As an Alternative Medicine student, I searched books, libraries, internet sites and picked the minds of my closest student friends. No answers, followed by frustration and concern because my life and responsibilities required the use of my arm.

The stress mounted and I purchased a massage therapy membership and went through several therapists who had no idea how to work my shoulder. It’s painful to get massage or even turn over with limited range of motion so every time was truly a journey.

Then it happened. I got an appointment with a therapist who had knowledge. She used a deep massage stripping the muscles underneath my armpit and along my minor pectorals. During the massage it was difficult to breath sometimes because the pain was intense but she helped me through. The next day, I could move my arm. Over the next 6 months, I went to see her several times a month and was definitely seeing improvement.

Today I am almost completely free of all symptoms and am continuing massage therapy to break free.

Somethings that helped nutritionally were my green drinks (kale, cucumber, cilantro, ginger, turmeric, celery, hibiscus, chia seeds, gogi berries, macaw and cacao), getting 8 hours of  sleep daily and reducing/eliminating alcohol and caffeine consumption and changing to a more vegetarian lifestyle to prevent/reduce inflammation inside my body.

I hope this information helps you or someone you know to recover from Frozen Shoulder. If you have any questions, please leave a comment or send an email. Namaste.

What are YOU waiting for?

Woman measuring her waist-873303

Could this be you? It happens so fast we don’t even notice.

Over the last year and a half, I sat a desk and worked a traditional, albeit temporary,  9-5 job. You know that means that when I woke up the first thing I thought of was that job and my duties. It was all I did all day and with the exception of brief periods of time I applied my attention to my college studies, was the last thing I thought of before going to sleep. During the most hectic moments of my year and a half assignment, I even had times when work was in my dreams.

I did a fantastic job during this time and even maintained a GPA of 3.85. Can you imagine the stress? I didn’t even know it was happening, but it was. The stress was causing Cortisol to be retained in my Seratonin Receptors, which meant that I would gain weight. I drank lots of coffee and really built up my belly fat. In a year and a half, I could hardly recognize myself.

I saw a few photos of myself and thought, oh, it’s just the lighting. When I tried to get back into my uniforms to return to my flying job, I realized the camera had in fact told the truth and I had gained considerable weight. I had to buy larger uniforms.

I took myself down to the uniform store and asked for a size 12. That was the largest side I could imagine myself in and as ‘large’ as I was willing to try on.  I was sure that it would be too big, but give me some time to reduce myself into my smaller uniforms. Well, to my surprise, it was a struggle to get it on. I pulled, pushed and twisted myself into that dress. I made so much noise huffing and puffing, I was sure the attendant was going to come and check to see if I was alright.

I pulled back the curtain and perused my image in the dressing room mirror.  It was a much snugger fit than I thought it would be. Still in shock and telling myself that they had just made this one too small or possibly mislabeled it, I decided that I was taking it. Of course,  now I had to figure out how I was going to get it off since it was snuggly wrapped around my body like skin on a sausage. Well, you can imagine the grunting and groaning during the event….but FINALLY I was able to get it off.  I hurried to pay for my garment and leave before any depth of conversation could be had with the attendant.

Many people will say, ‘how did you let that happen?” Honestly, by the time I realized, it was too late. The deed had been done.

With my new uniforms in hand, I started back to work in my very active flying job and noticed a few pounds roll off …probably due to activity. Just think, ANY activity after NO activity is like a shock to your body. It wasn’t much though. Daily I was just undone about the problem.

A longtime friend reached out to me to tell me about her new journey as a Health Coach and I was intrigued, so much so that I started to use the tools she provided me. Those tools were her services as my Health Coach, providing guidance and support and lots of encouragement. Another tool was my involvement in a group of individuals on the program that share my same concerns and fears. They were also there to share my joys and accomplishments. The third tool was the food that I am using to relieve myself of the unwanted pounds and fat. It’s a unique program that is low fat, low glycemic index and encourages fat burning and helps to maintain lean muscle mass. Not much exercise required.

Within 6 weeks, I had lost 15 pounds! At the end of the second month, I joined the team as a Health and Wellness Coach and am continuing to lose weight. I was impressed with the product and the concept and want to help others in similar situations to feel better about themselves.

If you would be one of those people, please reach out to me. It’s possible that your camera isn’t lying….if it’s not, don’t worry…there is a way back…quick, easy and painfree………EMAIL ME at skweeek@gmail.com SUBJECT: Goals

Reflecting

At the time of the 9/11 terrorist attack in NYC, I was working in aviation, alongside many friends and family.

On that day, I watched in horror as the first plane and then the second plane hit the towers.  I realized lives, including those of my friends and family, would potentially be lost. The frightening footage of people falling from the Towers and imagining their fate etched images into my memory that remain today. How can anyone forget?

Through the years that followed the tragedy, I couldn’t visit the Ground Zero site. Everything within me just said, “NO!”.

While working with a retired firefighter this last week, I was encouraged to and did visit Ground Zero, now called The South Tower and North Tower Pool and The Freedom Tower.

As I entered the area, my fears melted away. My firefighter friend showed me the Chapel where the FDNY Chaplain was laid on the altar after he was found in the rubble. He pointed out the only tree that remained standing after all the destruction.  How incredible. As I walked over to the South Tower Pool, I was lulled by the sound of the water as it passed from top to bottom in what seemed like a refreshing and purification of the once defiled land.  Surrounding the pools is a wall where every name of every person lost that day is written, for remembrance and reflection.

As I walked through the area I noticed a peacefulness that was overwhelming. My spirit was quieted by this peace and I wondered why I felt no dark heavy feelings. After all, this was the site of absolute terror and gripping fear. In all the years since it happened, I was sure I would feel only fear and terror once I touched the soil of those souls who had departed.

As I reflected that day and these days since, I have come to believe that the peace that flows through the Ground Zero site is in place because we have not forgotten. We, who remain, have honored those who gave their lives for us. The water in the pools cleanses us and refreshes us as we stand in observation of what once was and now is.

With all these thoughts inside, now I understand the logic behind building a taller building in this same place and calling it the Freedom Tower. That day I felt my own freedom return. I understand what we are saying with the Freedom Tower and have never been more proud to be a United States Citizen.1395345_10201675736527186_1881351480_n

How was your commute?

commuting

My commute this morning was pretty awesome! I had to be in Boston for a San Francisco flight this afternoon, so I took an early morning flight out of Orlando and watched this beautiful sunrise above the clouds. Sometimes as I see a sunrise above the clouds, or a thunderstorm as we fly around it, or a rainbow those on the ground may not ever see, I say to myself, ‘What an wonderful life!’

I hope your morning was as fulfilling!
